Newstead Abbey,
Mansfield, Notts.

7 Novr 1864

My Dear Mr Murray

Mrs Goodlake
obliges me by taking
up two small
books with astro-nomical
observations
worked out for
Mr Arrowsmith
but I don't send
the sketches by

Dr Meller which I
mentioned to Cooke
as a lady comes
tomorrow who
may construct
something out of
them for me —

A small tract
of Archbishop
Whately & published
by Parker & Co I
think teaches that
several things

20

such as iron-making
fire &c &c indicate
Divine revelation
[¿] to shew
by the similarity
of a great many
things the probability
that this was the
case. Can you
get me the tract
indicated — the
name I have forgot
It is an Argument
for a Revelation

from some things
that savage man
could not have
attained without
divine aid — If you
can you will
oblige Yours ever

David Livingstone
