Madam
I venture to apply
for the situation as companion,
advertised in to-days
"Herald". I am [¿] eighteen
& I am well accustomed
to housekeeping, as I have
been at home since I left
school. I have had most
of the housework to attend
to. I have had a little
music, I am a good singer
As to salary I hardly know,
never having filled a
situation before. If you
should kindly let me know
(should I please you) what you
are prepared to give I should
know better. I can attain
references from the Minister
& others, should I hear from
you. Should you think this
worthy of an answer, you
will greatly oblige
Yours truly
Agnes G. Wood
Cyprus Place. Yoker near Glasgow.
