My Dear Archie

I am very happee to think by this time you
are again setled at Mr Chauvits as in my
oppinion studying Greeck and Latin is no
worce for a Man of your Age than seeing
life and I hope you will be very Busie while
you are at Kingsinton Square I have no
objection to your Comeing down the Midle
of next month and think you need not
wait for a Companion as it is a much
ſingular way and full as good to put your
foot in the Flye and whip down to Scotland
very Cleverly. I like your descripton of the
Ball and the Company much better than
your former descriptions and Could have
wished to have attended my good friend Lady
Edmonstone with pleasure to see you all
Dance so merrily did my old Friend the

Duke of Queensbery Dance I suppose not in
my young Days he was both a keen and a
good Dancer since I wrot you we are made out
Our Jaunt to Peebles there were very unluckie
in Weather but did not Confine
Ourselves on that account as we paid
Visits every Day and one night was Obligd
to take up Our Quarters at Peebles as the
watters were unpaſsible Miſs Katty Murray
was of the partie her and I came in
on Wednesday and left Miſs Jane with
her Cousines at [¿] to drink a watter that is
famous for Kringthoring the Eyes I wish
