Premanent members of the University of Glasgow
The Petition of James Wright
humbly sheweth
That your Petitioner has had the
misfortune to get his household furniture
destroyed, himself and his family much hurt
and wounded by Some Gentlemen who were
Students at the University
That your Petitioner is greatly hurt
in his Credit by the Said Riot, and is
expelled from his Habitation and deprived of
his Body Cloaths and the poor Remainder
of his furniture to Satisfy the Landlord
for his Rent
That your Petitioner is far from
claiming any Siller to trouble the Learned
Profeſsors from this Circumstance of the
Riotors being Students; But as he Suppoſes
they are fled from Justice ſo as
he has no hopes of having Recourse for
his Damages; He has presumed to supplicate
the Generosity of the Profeſsors for some
Relief in his present [¿] Case.
May it therefore Please your Wisdom
to Contribute what to you may Seem
meet for my Aſsistance. And, That this
University may always flourish in
Learning and Virtue shall be the
conſtant Prayer of
James Wright
