Scottish Executive Culture Policy Review and Commission
• The group gree’d tae prepare fir makkin submissions tae this process.
• The group thocht aboot draftin a statement o cultural entitlement concernin Scots – a guid model can be foond at Portree High School.
• The Executive isnae clear aboot the role o the Gaelic an Scots leids in the commission – the XPG shuid inform MSPs.
• It wis decidit that the group shuid draft a letter tae the Herald newspaper speirin aboot access tae the commission an how tae mak submissions.
• The SLRC wad circulate an electronic version o the Cultural Commission document tae group memmers.
• The group heard that the Civic Forum haed been organisin a series o meetins aboot the Commission – memmers war encouraged tae attend sic meetins.
• The group haed ideas fir the Commission concernin developin Scotland as a World Literary Centre – haein a comprehensive writers’ museum wi office space fir literary organisations.
Visit Scotland
• The group notit the recent reports aboot Visit Scotland openly discriminatin agin the Scots leid.
Edinburgh Festival and Fringe
• The group notit there wisnae much Scottish or Scots content in the International Festival or the Book festival. There will be a Fringe Book Festival this year though wi slots fir Scots events.
Scottish Arts Council
• Rob Gibson tae write tae SAC speirin aboot their Scots policy an their involvement wi the XPG.
• SAC updating their website – tere will be space fir Scots on it.

The group notit the recent letter bi Donald Gorrie MSP an gree’d tae thank him fir his efforts.
