Dear Joan,
Many thanks for your letter. I put off answering it, always hoping to have some news of May's progress - at long last she got her "plaster" off last week and it is a case of getting "the leg" mobile again. Naturally it is rather painful and the knee very stiff - but the physiotherapist has got her exercising so we hope it wont be too long now until she is allowed home.
Hope you have got rid of the snow by now - it fairly puts things out of action surely that is the worst of the winter over now - !! It is fine that Mrs Allan has improved these "strokes" are terrible. You seem to have very nice neighbours and also a very gallant butcher - ??
Hope Chrissie is keeping fairly well and also yourself. We must try to meet again sometime when things get back to normal.
Take care of yourself good people are a scarce commodity these days.
Love from
Alice
