SCOTS Project - www.scottishcorpus.ac.uk Document : 991 Title : The Rowans Author(s): Prof Christian Kay Copyright holder(s): Prof Christian Kay Text The Rowans When Autumn comes with colours gay, And berries, juicy, soft and round, The rowan is brightest and best of all The fragrant fruits upon the ground. The berries are round and bright and red, The leaves are tinted in Autumn hues, They make the brightest spectacle That Mother Nature can use. And so I praise the rowans, And ne'er more glad could be That we chose for our emblem, The colourful rowan tree. This work is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
