1st Meeting, 2003 (Session 1)

The meeting opened at 2.01 pm.

 
 
1. Subordinate Legislation: The Committee considered the following negative
instrument—


The Seeds (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No.2) (Scotland) Regulations 2002,
(SSI 2002/564)

and took evidence from Ross Finnie MSP, Minister for Environment and Rural
Development.

2. Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Bill: Ross Finnie MSP, Minister for
Environment and Rural Development, moved S1M-3732— 

That the Rural Development Committee considers the Agricultural Holdings
(Scotland) Bill at Stage 2 in the following order: Part 1, Parts 3 to 5,
Part 7, Part 6, Part 2, Part 8, the schedule.

The motion was agreed to.

The meeting continued in private at 2.29 pm.

3. Organic Farming Targets (Scotland) Bill (in private): The Committee
considered a draft Stage 1 report. A number of changes were proposed and
agreed to. The Committee agreed to consider a further draft in private at
its meeting on 14 January 2002. The Committee agreed to send an embargoed
copy of the report to Robin Harper MSP and to the Minister for Environment
and Rural Development prior to publication.

The meeting closed at 4.56 pm.
