S1M-567 Mr Brian Monteith (Mid Scotland and Fife) (Con) :  Hosting the
Football World Cup in Scotland— That the Parliament notes that the next
football World Cup organised by FIFA is being hosted jointly by Japan and
the Republic of Korea in 2002 and calls upon the Scottish Football
Association to hold exploratory discussions with their counterparts in
Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to examine the
feasibility of the four national football associations combining to bid to
hold the World Cup in 2010.
