The meeting opened at 10.05 am
1. Item in private: The Convener moved that item 2 be taken in private
2. Travelling People and Public Sector Policies Inquiry (in private): The Committee considered the draft remit for the Inquiry, the possibility of appointing an adviser and the call for evidence.
3. Single-sex schools: The Committee agreed to defer this item until the next meeting of the Committee on 26 September.
4. Legislation: The Committee considered the Equal Opportunities aspects of current legislation.
5. Consultations: The Committee considered the Equal Opportunities aspects of new Scottish Executive consultations
6. Reporters: The Committee received progress reports from—
Irene McGugan – Disability issues
Michael McMahon – Race issues
Nora Radcliffe – Sexual orientation issues
7. Correspondence: The Committee considered recent correspondence received by the Clerk and Convener.
The meeting finished at 10.35 am
